The Digital Trader system creates a unique reference number for each request for cover for a client.

This is displayed as the BDT Reference on the Search, Quote, and Results pages.

This reference number can be used when searching for Quotes or Policies relating to this request for cover, or when contacting BDT support.

The BDT Reference is created the first time a New Business quote is saved, and the same BDT Reference is used for any Policies, MTA, or Cancellation quotes resulting from that request for cover.

Note that insurers will generally not be sent this reference number, so it generally won't be needed for correspondence with them.
