Not all insurers support policy cancellation through the Digital Trader system. If the insurer does not support policy cancellations through the Digital Trader system, there are still steps to follow to mark the policy as cancelled. In these scenarios please contact the insurer outside of Digital Trader. The broker must enter the Cancellation Date and Premium changes agreed with the insurer to update Digital Trader. The broker must also accept the cancellation to confirm the submitted data has gone through, and the policy has been cancelled by the insurer. See steps below for Non-Integrated Cancellations
Creating a Cancellation Quote
On the Policy page, click the “Cancel Policy” button (shown here in red).
When the cancel dialog appears, enter the Cancellation Date and Premium changes agreed with the insurer to update Digital Trader.and click “Cancel Policy”. If you do not wish to proceed through the cancellation steps, click the “Cancel” or “X” button in the dialog. Clicking either the “Cancel” or “X” button will return you to the policy page.
The policy will display in Digital Trader with a status of “Cancelling”. The information entered will be displayed on the results page.
Accepting a Cancelation to cancel a Policy
On the results page of the cancellation quote, if the broker wishes to finalise and accept the cancellation, press the “Accept” button (displayed above in red). This will open a new confirmation dialog.
Fill out any required fields in the dialog and click “Confirm Cancellation” to finalise the cancellation process. If you do not wish to finalise the cancellation process, click the “Cancel” or “X” button in the dialog. Clicking the “Cancel” or “X” button will return the user to the results page with the policy still in a “Cancelling” status.
Clicking the”Confirm Cancellation” button will display the policy as “Cancelled” in Digital Trader. At this point, no further action can be taken on the policy.
Rejecting an open Cancellation Quote
It is possible to reject a cancellation quote, indicating that the client does not wish to proceed to Cancel the Policy. The insurer should be informed of this outside of Digital Trader. within the Digital Trader platform. In order to reject a cancellation, click the “Reject” button on the results page. (Shown below)
After clicking the “Reject” button, a confirmation message will display. If the user does not wish to reject the quote, clicking the “Close” or “X” button will return the user to the results page and the quote will not be rejected.
Clicking the “Reject” button will reject the cancellation and return the user to the Live Policy page where the status of the policy will be displayed as live.
Viewing previously rejected Cancellation quotes
Cancellation quotes can be viewed in the search results like any other quote or policy. The “Type” column will display “Cancellation” to signify the status of the quote.
Clicking “View” will bring the user to the cancellation quote results page.
